Master of Science in Pharmacoeconomics and Health Outcomes

The Master of Science in Pharmacoeconomics and Health Outcomes is a 30-credit, fully online degree program. Health economics and outcomes research is increasingly important to the healthcare industry and aims to optimize patient care delivery and clinical decision-making as well as influence policy discussions related to healthcare reimbursements and priorities.

This degree program will prepare students for careers in health care administration, medical affairs, and market access and research in public and private health systems, the pharmaceutical industry, health insurance companies, government and academia.

Students will take courses covering topics including biostatistics, epidemiology, qualitative and quantitative research methods, health economics and health care delivery systems.

Core Required Courses

Students are required to take all of the following courses in order to earn the Master of Science in Pharmacoeconomics and Health Outcomes degree. Courses will be offered fully online, in either an asynchronous or partly synchronous/asynchronous model.  The courses will be offered as scheduled during the Fall, Spring, or Summer semesters.

Capstone or Thesis requirements

Depending on the goals of the student, each student may enroll in one or both of the following courses in addition to a one-credit seminar course towards the completion of the degree.  Students may enroll in each course up to two times.  This is not a requirement for graduation.

Jill AugustineProgram Director:
Dr. Jill Augustine,
earned her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in Pharmacoeconomics, Policy, and Outcomes.  She was awarded her Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2012 and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Emory University School of Public Health with a focus area in Behavioral Science and Health Education.  Dr. Augustine areas of research include education assessment, health outcomes, and qualitative research.

$750 per credit hour + technology fee of $17 per credit hour (max. of $150)
Total estimated tuition for Master’s Degree  = $23,041
