Background

Dr. Philip S. Mensah received a B.S. in Biotechnology from Kennesaw State University and graduated from Mercer COP in 2013. He joined the faculty after a career in community pharmacy practice that spanned over 20 years. Affectionately known as “Dr. Phil,” Dr. Mensah is well-known by his patients as a caring, knowledgeable, and dedicated healthcare practitioner. Dr. Mensah has been recognized throughout his career for his leadership acumen, operational excellence, and clinical approach to community pharmacy practice. His awards include IPPE Preceptor of the Year, Brother of the Year by his professional pharmaceutical fraternity (Kappa Psi), and numerous recognitions for operational excellence in community practice.

Dr. Mensah is very involved in his local community. He currently dedicates his time to giving health education presentations in area high schools and mentoring students interested in entering the healthcare field. His research interests include the evaluation of health disparities as they relate to vaccine hesitancy and medication therapy management (MTM) initiatives in rural, minority, and underserved communities.

He enjoys spending time with his family, watching sports, and attending classic car shows in his spare time.
