Dr. Crouch serves as Dean and Professor at Mercer University College of Pharmacy. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina and completed his first-year pharmacy residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He also earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, participated in a cardiovascular summer research fellowship, and completed a second-year, cardiology-focused residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. His additional experience includes the Institute for Management and Leadership in Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Master of Business Administration from Samford University’s Brock School of Business.
Before his current role, Crouch held several key faculty and leadership positions at Virginia Commonwealth, East Tennessee State, and Samford. He has served as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor of Pharmacy and Medicine, Chair and Professor, Executive Associate Dean, Dean, and Acting Associate Provost. His academic and leadership achievements have been widely recognized, earning him induction into various prestigious societies, including Phi Lambda Sigma (international pharmacy leadership society), Rho Chi (pharmacy honor society), Beta Gamma Sigma (business international honor society), Phi Kappa Phi (national honor society), and Omicron Delta Kappa (national leadership honor society).
Crouch’s dedication to pharmacy higher education has defined his career, including teaching professional and graduate students, as well as pharmacy residents. His commitment has earned him numerous teaching awards. His academic work includes more than 100 scholarly publications, over 200 invited presentations, and two books. As a third-generation pharmacist, he brings extensive experience in ambulatory care, hospital, and critical care pharmacy. He earned board certification in pharmacotherapy in 1996, with added qualifications in cardiology in 2000. In 2009, he was named a Fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. He also serves on the Research in Clinical Pharmacy Editorial Board of the Asian Conference on Clinical Pharmacy.
Outside of his professional life, Crouch is married to Candace and has three adult children: Jack, Julia, and Anna. In addition to spending time with family, Crouch enjoys the tranquility of fly fishing, the challenge of playing golf, the thrill of motorcycling, and the creativity involved in playing guitar and piano.
